Another month, another conference. On October 25th, I had the pleasure of being a speaker at AI<>BA. The main focus of the conference was on business applications of AI. I was asked to give an introductory speech and define the common language - not an easy task, especially if you are used to speaking to a more technical audience. At the end of the day, I think it was beneficial for both - the audience and myself to have a chance to rethink the obvious and ask ourselves if we truly understood:

I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something.

Richard P. Feynman

In this post, I will not summarize the conference but will try to summarize my practical observations.

On the 28th of September '23, I had the pleasure to be a speaker at the Cloudyna MeetUp 2023. The event took place at Leśniczówka, the rock'n'roll hub of Katowice, where the electric atmosphere matched the iconic venue. Besides the great talks, the event was an opportunity to meet with the community and discuss the latest in generative AI, which was sometimes quite heated. In this post, I'm sharing a summary of the event, focusing on the wow moments I experienced.

The latest proceedings in Artificial Intelligence initiated heated discussions about the future of AI. It is a mixture of excitement, fear, hope, and everything in between. The European Commission has proposed a new legal framework for AI, which may shortly become the law. Some big names (including Elon Musk) urged to pause the development of big models - the open letter was signed over 30,000 times as of August 28, 2023 [^1]. At the same time, the adoption of the technology is growing rapidly and doubts are piling up. In this post, I'm summarizing my thoughts on how to approach the challenges and operate safely.

Advancements in AI have long captivated and unsettled humanity. Recently, with user-friendly interfaces like website chats and prompt-supported Discord channels, this technology has made its way into our homes.

Initially met with widespread enthusiasm and curiosity, as evidenced by countless early adopters sharing their experiences, the ecstasy surrounding AI has begun to wane. People are growing weary of subpar content on demand and are increasingly focusing on identifying risks and limitations. Sadly, many have abandoned its potential without fully exploring its capabilities.

In this article, I will share my experiences and my indispensable toolbox. I hope it will help you to start, re-start, or continue your journey with generative AI.
